Nocturnal Animals Week 1With talks of bats and everything creepy at night, we thought we would take the opportunity to talk and learn about Nocturnal Animals. Group TimeWe had a group discussion using the pocket chart sorting activity about animals that came out during the night and animals that are out during the day. We introduced the letter N for Night and Nocturnal. Work Time (Learning Centers)The children were scientist with a fizzy color mixing station. Children experimented with red and yellow and discovered that it makes orange. Children created art by dipping pumpkins in paint and then rolling them down the ramps and onto the paper. As they were playing they discovered the difference between rolling and sliding. Small Group ActivitiesThis week children worked on beginning sounds N for night and D for Day. Children counted bats with Going Batty counting mats. Making owl patterns. Nocturnal Week 1Here's what we worked on...
