Things From TreesI have been drooling over other peoples nature tables and this year is the year that I am going to take the plunge and introducing them to my learning environment. I love bringing nature into the learning environment rocks, driftwood, and sticks in the block center and tree bisques in the home living center, so I don't know why I have not created a nature table yet. When the children started noticing items falling from all of the trees in the outdoor play area and bringing them to us to show us their treasures that they had found, I thought... This is it This is what I needed to jump start me on our nature table adventure. I was able to find all of the containers for our nature table at the $1.00 section in target. I just love that little corner of target don't you? I had planned on posting this post a few weeks ago and never got around to it, So... I thought since our nature table has changed since then I would include our new nature table as well. I think they have been enjoying the $1.00 jars as well. I have jars of these now on the nature table. There words "Ms. Tami look we have wheat to make bread with. One of the ladies that works with me has the most amazing green thump and she was able to bring in items from her garden for our pumpkin and gourd table. At work time children cut open pumpkins and butternut squash to predict and discover the differences. As we were exploring we thought it to be a good ideas to see if one would grow. I wish I would not of waited so long to start a nature table in the classroom. The children have enjoyed learning about the different things that nature has provided.
