Week 1 - 5 Pacing Guide
A successful school year starts out with a pacing calendar or guide. A pacing calendar will help you prepare for the year ahead, it will provide you with a road map for your instruction.
Why do I need a pacing calendar?
The purpose of a pacing calendar is to map out the key concepts that need to be taught and the amount of time that you need to devote to each area.
It will help you to effectively plan the curriculum that you will be using to teach the skills needed to meet state standards or common core standards.
What do you want and need to cover?
A pacing guide will allow you to be sure that you have covered all the key concepts and standards over the course of a year.
Start by planning your monthly themes of study and map them out on your planning calendars. You can grab a FREE set here.
Now that you have your weeks map out on your planning calendar break those weeks down to the key concepts that you need to teach.
I like to include books and TpT resource covers to help keep me on track.
I have been asked if I could share my pacing guide, so you can grab my pacing guide for week 1-5 below.
Each month I will provide a pacing guide that you can follow.
