Using Books to Enhance Learning Centers Day 26

Day Twenty six

​When we place book in our learning environment we need to think about how that book is going to enhance the materials that we put it with.

​Think about it this way would you place a book about insects in the dramatic play kitchen where there making pancakes or would you place a pancake cook book?

​But we could place a book about insects next to a basket of insects and nature items.  So that as children are turning the pages they can create what they see with the materials that have been placed with it.  Make since.

Or you could place a book about bees and pollination with a provocation designed for children to explore the pollination process of bees.

Books take us to places that we cannot go.

Task:
Find a book that is in your collection that will spark children’s interest.  Add materials along with that book to a shelf or table for children to explore.
