It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to Katie Eshleman from Ta-Da! Music.  Katie is a music therapist who specializes in early childhood music therapy.

She has recorded three children's CD's designed to enhance early childhood speech development.

Research shows that kids who are actively involved in music (who play it or sing it regularly):
  • do better in reading and math when they start school
  • are better able to focus and control their bodies
  • play better with others and have higher self-esteem

When working with young children I am always on the look out for new music to help promote the learning in my classroom.  That is why I am glad that I found Katie and the music that she has created.  With Ta-Da! music it helps my group of young learners develop their speech and language through fun singable songs. Katie has written songs that focus on the natural development of speech in her three CD series.

Sing Out is the first CD in the series and was written and adapted to focus on the ‘bilabial” sounds – /P/, /B/, /W/ and /M/. These sounds are the earliest developmentally and use both lips for sound production.
Ta-Da! is the second CD in the series and was written and adapted to focus on the alveolar sounds – /L/,/T/,/D/,/S/, and /Z/. These are the sounds we produce with our tongues.

Rock Star is the third CD in the speech and language development series, addresses the next set of sounds found in the developmental spectrum of language – “J” and “Ch.” These sounds are produced by placing the tongue at the roof of the mouth while stopping and releasing air flow.
Katie would like to giveaway this three CD series to one lucky winner.  Valued at $35.00.

I would LOVE this set. I am a mama to an amazing music loving little three year old with CAS (childhood apraxia of speech) and we don't have any amazing music therapists like this in my area so I would love to use this at home with my little man to help him find his voice!
