Learning and Teaching with Preschoolers

Where the magic begins

Preparing for ECER's

The time of year has come for our annual ECER's review, when an outside agency comes in to perform the review.

Do you stress out at the sound of your annual ECER's review or even question yourself that you have everything in it's rightful place?

I use to hear the words ECER's review and I would break out in hives and over think the whole process.  (loosing sleep over the whole thing)

But...

Now when I hear those words it's like sitting in a coffee shop catching up with a friend.

How did I get there?

Staying organized and having a plan over the years has helped me to stay stress free.

I did this by creating a workbook that would help me with the process and to keep me on track with all of the areas.

It keeps me inspired to continually improve the classroom environment and keep the learning alive.

Here's how it works.

I find that dream inspirational picture that grabs me and draws me in.  Making the child in me come alive.

Take a before picture.

What child would want to create in this area?  Your right none.

Make your dream wish list.

Think if you were a child again what would draw you in to this center to make you want to play and learn.
Now make that dream wish list for your learning center, don't hold back list it all.

Now take a friend laugh, sing and have fun filling your wish list at garage sales, thrift stores and don't forget the discount stores.

You can even call your parents to action by giving them your wish list, remember that ones trash is another treasure.

Take a after picture.

So you can see how far you came.

Remember this will not happen over night.

That is why the planning book is so important, it keeps you inspired as your classroom dream comes alive.

As well as stress free!

Because you have everything that you need right at your fingertips.
