Peek at My Week Winter week 2

We are full steam ahead for the new year. This week has been packed full of many fun and new learning experiences.

Breakout Groups

Now that we are heading into the second half of our school year we have started our breakout groups. We pull a small group of children for one on one support based on their learning goals. This week our break out groups worked on numbers from 1 to 10 using Building a Snowman Number Center (TNB).

Small Group Activities

Building print awareness with this fun hands on winter sorting game. Children sorted cards with pictures, letters and words.

Beginning letter sound sorting using the freebie Let's Learn Some Letter Sounds (TNB).

Learning Centers

We add clean mud for the sensory table where children discovered that they could mold snowmen out of it.

Clean Mud Recipe
4 rolls of Charmin Ultra Soft TP
2 bars of ivory soap
Glitter
Water

Children created penguins with clay. These penguins will be a long term winter project. Once dry the children will paint them with glaze and they will fired in the kiln.

Children also created these fabulous penguins in the creative art studio.
