But first lets see what happened last week with our All About Me Unit.

The group really enjoyed creating with the All About Me play dough mats.  The giggles and laughs coming from this station was contagious.

The self portraits were amazing.  By using the mirrors the children really showed detail in their work.

What program do you use to make your Smartboard activities? Powerpoint, or something else?

I use both depending on what I want to create. I find that power point works best if you want the children to move things around. I turn my back ground into a picture and then I add elements on top that they can move around.

If I want children to write on the board then I use smart board.

I hope this helps.

I just created a Letter, Word, Picture smartboard activity after reading your Lesson Plan. I love that idea. I used PowerPoint. The thing I don't like about Powerpoint is if the students don't click on the box just right it gets larger, smaller etc. I wasn't sure if there was a program that makes it user friendly for the students.
Love your ideas!!! :)

I find if I use a pointer with the children on the smart board the objects move around easier than if I let them use their finger. Just make sure that it has a rubber end to it.

So far I have not found one for our little ones to be user friendly. There are draw back to both programs.

Thank you.
