My students love spending time in the letter and word center during our schedule work time. Since they do spend so much time at this center I have to change the activities every few weeks to ensure that they are getting what they need from that center. Here are a few of my students favorites that I have included in the Learning Letters packet to help you keep up with the high demands of your letter and word area. Letter Clipping CenterChildren love to clip things so why not include those clipping skills to learning and recognizing letters. Children use clothes pins that will build their fine motor skills as they learn to identify letters. Making Letters with Do-a-DotsWhat child does not enjoy using bingo markers? So why not include one of their favorite toys with learning about letters. Your children will want to do letter after letter with this fun letter dot worksheets. Matching LettersI always like to have letter tubs out for the children to use during center time and these letter matching mats are perfect for children to identify and find letters. These mats can be found in both upper and lowercase letters. Say It, Find It, Write ItWith a mix group of children I need to make sure that I have a variety of learning stages out at all times. The Say It, Find It, Write It sheets are a great way to do just that. Cut & Paste LettersI like to throw in cutting activities for those children that need and want to cut as they learn. What is the order?Children are always singing the ABC's, so this is just a fun way for them to fill in the blanks as they sing. Say It, Dot It, Write ItI could have bingo markers out every day and that table would be filled with children making their mark on the world. So I like to work their enjoyment for something into making learning fun and these Say It, Dot It and Write mats do just that. Learning Letters Literacy Center PacketIn this 130 page packet you will find everything you need to change up and make the learning fun in your letter and word center.
