Why have a chandelier center in the classroom?
Children need to be provided with many different opportunities to build on their fine motor and eye hand coordination.
When incorporating a chandelier station your little ones will build their fine motor skills by grasping beads. The grasping motion of string beads will promote the different grasps needed to hold a pencil or marker. It will also strength their coordination with the in-hand manipulation of the beads and string.
The chandelier station will also provide opportunities for children to build on their bilateral coordination of the hands which requires hands and eyes to work together (eye-hand coordination). The eye needs to guide the hand in forming the letters.

Math skill can also be incorporated into the center by encouraging children to measure their finished product, count the amount of beads used or by making patterns as they string the beads.
Social Skills are promoted by children sharing and cooperating with one another as they take turns to find beads that they want to use.
Language developments as children work together. They are listening, speaking and understanding the communication of others.
