Since the book nook is located next to where parents sign their children in and out. I wanted this area to reflect a home like atmosphere. I want parents to know that their children are comfortable and well cared for while they are in our care. The book nook has a nice plush carpet with lots of soft pillows. It also has a basket of soft animals so that they can curl up anywhere and enjoy a good book with a friend. Keeping it CleanOne of the things that I find most challenging about the book center is the organization and clean up of the books. This year we have done things a little different when it comes to putting our books away. Each basket of books is organized by category and each category has a different symbol to identify it. Then each book as a symbol on the front to identify its category. Math books are identified with the star shape and children know that all star books go back in the star basket. We used craft paper punches for making the symbols for the books. You can download book labels below all you will need to do is come up with your own symbols.
