Why do you do group writing? Each day we make time for a writer's workshop that provides children with opportunities to learn and practice skills in story telling (book making) and writing. As we involve the children in story telling and book making we are always asked how do I make the letter... So what did we do?

Children need to know that the marks they make on paper are important to us. A great way to do this is to create a frame for each child. We used old frames that we found around our homes, garage sales and even thrift stores. Next we removed the glass from each frame, painting some with different colors. Once frames were dry we cut cardboard to fit in each frame and used double stick tape to attach a sheet of colored scrap booking paper to add the pop factor. To finish off the frames we hot glued cork-board material and their names to each frame. |
